See aad6f1db6e/abra (L502-L505).

I can't remember what we said but there was some talk of somehow negotiating via the abra-apps json when we should or should not do a git pull (quite slow) in an app repo to get the latest.

It is not clear to me now how to do that?

This would help speed things up significantly.
